Best Pizza & Wine bar In San Jose
We started with a love for good wine and easy comfort. Now, we’ve built a place where people come for the drinks—but stay for the experience.
Housed in a historic 1928 building on San Jose's The Alameda, Hop & Vine operates a rustic-chic neighborhood wine and craft beer bar complete with a kitchen to serve delicious shareable plates. The welcoming ambiance has created a loyal following. Special events such as live music from local artists, trivia nights, local sports team watch parties, flashback music video night, wine and beer tastings, and other activities are placed on the calendar each month.
Originally established as The Wine Affairs in 2007, the business rebranded as Hop & Vine to better reflect its offerings in 2021. Guests may choose from 12 craft beers on tap, a majority of which are from local microbreweries; 20+ wines by the glass from both Old World and New World boutique wineries; and a wide selection of delicious bites, including custom cheese plates, charcuterie boards, gourmet pizzas, fresh salads, and a dozen other small plates.
The owners have deep roots in the San Jose community. David Koehler is the principal at Koehler & Associates CPA on the Alameda. Doug Cookerly is a local restaurateur and is the President of The Alameda Business Association.
